The fifth race in the series was a night race at Soldier Hollow, the 2002 Winter Olympics cross country ski venue. Despite the warm weather we have had, the course was in good shape with plenty of snow cover and it was groomed nicely. In fact, riders that had dirty tires were asked to clean them before riding on the course. It was a fast course with the leaders covering each lap in about 10 minutes. As usual Mad Dog Cycles (http://maddogcycles.com/), the primary race sponsor, was on hand for mechanical support. There was also the usual raffle after the race where lots of bike goodies were given away. The three winners in Division A rode a close race until the end when Charles Jenkins pulled away. Howlin’ Wolfe’s strong kick allowed him to pull away from Geoff Montague for second.
Here is video coverage of the race, followed by photos. Scroll down for race results.
